1. Vases

Cut a length of inner tube to fold into thirds. In the center section add pebbles or sand to act as a weight. Fold so that tube forms a standing triangle shape and fasten the ends together with ribbon. Add water and flowers.

2. Rubber Bands

Cut a tube cross-ways into strips for regular-size rubber bands of any width, or cut it lengthwise for giant-size bands.

3. Shoelaces

Cut the inner tube into long, thin strips to use as replacement shoelaces or to turn your shoes into slip-ons.

4. Resistance Band

Stretch the tubes every which way for the ultimate low-budget workout.

Cut inner tube into a ribbon and use lengths of the ribbon to keep your cables organized. In the garden, use it to train your vines or add support to plants and trees.

7. Bungees

Cut tube material to the length you like and fit the ends with bungee hooks or clips and knot so that tube is held in place by tension.

8. Lid Grip

Cut out a flat square or circle of tube. Wash it thoroughly so the surface is grippy. It helps you grip and twist open stubborn lids. Works great for twist-off beer bottle caps too!

9. Mini Pouches

If you’re a little more ambitious try making mini pouches using a section of inner tube for the pouch. Stitch one end together with a strong thead. On the other end, cut away half of the tube to create a flap. Apply snaps for a reliable closure.

10. Door Stopper

Cut a tube open and roll it up into a spiral of whatever diameter needed to prop open a door.

11. Chew Toy

Cut a tube to open the loop. Knot-up one end to form a ball for the dog to grab (with its teeth, of course). Add a knot or two on the other end to use as a handle.
